With a growing family, and views unparalleled in the Wellington region, the clients for The Lookout approached Arete Architects to design them a bold, yet considerate, and integrated addition to their existing seaside home.

The nautically inspired design nestles into the surrounding vegetation, projecting from the hillside to provide sweeping views over the sea to the mountains of the South Island in the distance. A natural, recycled, material palette has been selected to blend into the landscape, remaining conscious of the impact construction can have on our stunning environment.
